All of Ventura County and Santa Barbara County, seven days a week — beaches, yards, parks, ballfields, golf courses and shallow water. I also work the Malibu coast and the Santa Clarita Valley.

Ventura, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Santa Paula, Fillmore and Ojai. I'm based in Fillmore, so most of the county is inside a half-hour drive.

Ring recovery in Ventura
Ventura is where I get the most calls, and the surf line between Surfers Point and Emma Wood is the most common place in the county to lose a ring.

Oxnard has miles of wide, flat sand and some of the busiest family beaches in the county — which means a lot of rings come off during volleyball, football and horseplay.

Malibu and the Santa Clarita Valley
I don't work all of Los Angeles County, but these two are genuine parts of my patch. I have a good number of recoveries along the Malibu coast, and Santa Clarita is a straight run down Highway 126 from my house — Valencia, Newhall, Saugus, Canyon Country, Castaic and Stevenson Ranch included. Beyond those two, I'll help you find a closer member of The Ring Finders instead.

Malibu is the one part of Los Angeles County I work regularly, and I have a good number of recoveries along this coast — Zuma, Point Dume, Surfrider and the coves in between.

What if I'm just outside your area?
Call anyway. I've travelled well outside my normal patch for the right search — I once recovered a set of hydraulic press dies from a hillside near a transmission tower above Fillmore. If the drive is long we'll agree a call-out figure on the phone before I set off, never afterwards.
And if you're genuinely too far away, I'll help you find the nearest member of The Ring Finders directory instead. Getting your ring back matters more than who finds it.
What kinds of places do you search?
- Beaches — dry sand, wet sand, the surf line and shallow water, worked to the tide. See the beaches I know best.
- Lawns and yards — usually the best-case scenario, because grass holds a ring shallow and doesn't move it.
- Parks and ballfields — softball and volleyball losses are extremely common and often recover fast.
- Golf courses — with the course's permission; I cut clean plugs that go straight back.
- Gardens, mulch and soil — slower, because of buried irrigation staples and nails, but very doable.
- Lakes and rivers — shallow water only, and depth and clarity decide whether it's realistic.
- Snow — yes, occasionally, up on the Grade or in the mountains.
